Liz how would you describe your experience with Hunter Careers?
My experience with Hunter Careers was a real stand out, from being appointed GM Marketing & Customer for Early Settler, to them helping me build an exceptionally talented team. Sam took her time to get to know me during the recruitment process and the process she implemented gave me the confidence Early Settler had done the due diligence to ensure I was right fit for them – where I knew I could add value that would be embraced. The thorough process assured me it was a perfect meeting of minds.
One of the most important milestones when I commenced in my role was to build a high performing team that would embrace the vision and values of Early Settler and the journey we were taking. Sam and Bec took the time to clearly understand the talent profile I was looking for. They were then able to apply a very bespoke and personalised approach to every role and carefully tailor it to ensure not only the best talent but the right talent was found. It really is like magic in these challenging times, where attracting the right talent takes patience and careful consideration – and with each appointment, I am left saying “How did you find him or her – they are brilliant!” I am now proud to have the best marketing team in the market.
What do you love most about your role?
What’s not to love, a brand with great history and product and an exceptional team of people. Over my career I’ve been fortunate to work on high profile brands that I have been trusted to transform or launch into Australia and NZ. Propelling brands is what I love by understanding customer needs and motivations and shaping a brand to meet those needs. Sometimes the transformation is subtle and sometimes it’s done with impact. Either way it works because it’s centred around two pivotal groups – our retail team and our customers. It’s a simple ingredient – happy team – happy customer – happy customer – happy team – it’s the perfect storm.
So put simply, what I love most about my role – 1. “CUSTOMERS are always PUT FIRST” 2. The Entrepreneur spirit of a test and learn culture.
Have you had any key achievements that you would like to share?
There are many and we have only scratched the surface. I’ve already mentioned the greatest achievement is building a great team that are creative, passionate, results driven and customer first, but most importantly share the love for the brand that everyone in the business does. As a team we have a number of big achievements that are in their infancy to help pave the way for rapid digital transformation and amplify the trust and love of Early Settler. We have commenced the implementation of a number of new tech platforms designed to provide each customer with a unique and personalised experience, and we have invested in extensive research to help define core segments to ensure we meet customer needs.
